Four for 4

1. Community Consultation
Helping to foster the connections between schools and their surrounding neighbourhoods through keeping the community up-to-date using social tools, and newsletters, hosting ward information sessions, and attending parent council and Home & School meetings, and other school and community functions.
2. Advocacy on behalf of our community to the province
Trustees often send letters to the Minister of Education (MOE) to advocate for issues that are beyond their control. Another way to advocate for local issues is to attend OPSBA (Ontario Public Schools Association), meetings to collaborate with fellow trustees from across the province.
3. Work closely with trustee colleagues and municipal, provincial, and federal counterparts
During Larry’s term as HWDSB trustee, he worked hard to create good relationships with his trustee colleagues, coterminous trustee counterpart, as well as his council and provincial colleagues. These relationships are key to ensuring the best possible outcomes for our students.
4. Parents as Equal Partners in Decision-Making
Larry will ensure that all opinions and concerns are given an equal voice while recognizing the diversity of viewpoints that exists among the families that he would represent as your elected official. He will lead without judgment and respect your faith-based, and personal health choices.
